PRESS RELEASE: The Youth of the EPP welcomes the successful outcome of the Croatian referendum on EU the country’s EU accession.
The fact that Croatian citizens voted by a 2:1 margin yesterday to join the EU, is a proof the membership is still an attractive prospect both in terms of values and economic prosperity.
YEPP has always expressed the view that in recent years Croatia has proven its maturity for membership. Moreover, its accession will set an example to follow for the region, while being a guarantee for stability.
It is important to underline that the conclusion of the accession talks could not have been achievable without the strong support of Croatian centre-right youth, with special regard to the activists of MHDZ. YEPP is convinced that from 1 July 2013, with Croatia in, the European Union will be even stronger.
