In this episode, we ask the pressing question: will Europe be able to defend itself in an era of growing security challenges? Our guest, David McAllister — Chair of the European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee and Vice-President of the EPP — joins YEPP Deputy Secretary General Eoin Scarlett to discuss Europe’s future in defence.

 

McAllister reflects on his unique British-German background, the waning reliability of the U.S. security guarantee, and the urgent need to rearm and strengthen Europe’s capabilities. He also addresses the threat posed by Russia, Europe’s support for Ukraine, and how the EU and NATO must adapt to safeguard peace and security.
