Young Minds Build Bridges

Youth of the European People's Party

The decision of the British people to abandon the European project has shaken the Union and will certainly require profound reflection on both sides of the English Channel. It is as regrettable as it is unfortunate. The need for a new European narrative, to reaffirm the European Union’s fundamental commitment to its citizens and inspire a future direction is more pressing than ever. What is hopeful is the overwhelming support young Brits extended to the European cause, voting determinately in favour of EU membership, counter to the rest of the electorate, as initial analysis indicates. The responsibility for securing a peaceful and prosperous future for our and coming generations lies with them and with us. Brexit is the most significant historical event of our generation: it is in our hands and those of young Brits who chose to continuously aspire to a united Europe to make a change.
