YEPP expresses solidarity with the victims of floods in the Balkans

Youth of the European People's Party

We send our condolences to the people of Serbia, Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on the recent flooding tragedy and express our admiration to the courageous work of the local authorities in their efforts to protect the lives and property of the citizens affected.
Konstantinos Kyranakis, President of YEPP, said “The loss of human life as a result of this natural disaster is truly tragic. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of those who have lost their lives, as well as those who have lost their homes. We pay tribute to the dedication of the emergency workers who are working around the clock to ensure the safety of the population at this time.”
In light of the recent tragedy, our voice for a simpler and faster response of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, both within the EU and to non-member states, becomes louder than ever. For more information on how to provide assistance to the people that have been affected, please contact the YEPP office at [email protected]
