Copenhagen victims did not die for nothing

Youth of the European People's Party

On behalf of the young people across Europe that we represent, we express our support and solidarity to the families affected, and to the people of Denmark, after the terrorist attack in Copenhagen yesterday, February 14th. In times like these, determination is what should define us. Determination in fighting the terrorists that threaten our way of life, our hard-fought freedoms.

In the light of the shocking attack, we pledge our support to the initiative for a European anti-terror pact across the member states to prevent radicalisation in societies, offer direct and coordinated counterterrorism measures and improve cooperation and sharing of information across borders and with third-countries, outside of our union.

Europe will not bow down to terrorist attacks. We stand united for the right to live in freedom and prosperity. We call on Europeans to join us in one voice and make it heard throughout the world, terrorism will not prevail.
