Geopolitics of Tomorrow – With MEP Reinhold Lopatka

Youth of the European People's Party

Last Wednesday, 11 March, YEPP hosted MEP Reinhold Lopatka, Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the Arab Peninsula (DARP).

Together with YEPP President Sophia Kircher and YEPP First Vice-President Tea Jerković, he addressed several pressing questions concerning the situation in Iran, the human cost of regime change, the implications for international law and human rights, Europe’s role in responding to these developments, and the broader consequences for the transatlantic relationship. The discussion was followed by a 10-minute Q&A session.

YEPP President Sophia Kircher highlighted that YEPP stands with the Iranian people and firmly believes that Iran must never acquire a nuclear weapon. Safeguarding international security remains essential, and our message must always remain centred on people, calling for the full protection and safety of Europeans in the Middle East.

This online workshop marked the first episode of our new seminar series, “Geopolitics of Tomorrow,” which aims to explore and better understand the major geopolitical challenges shaping our future.

Thank you, Mr Lopatka, for taking the time to shed light on this delicate and important topic.

Don’t miss the next sessions of “Geopolitics of Tomorrow.” Join us as we continue exploring the key geopolitical issues that will shape the world.
