YouthEPP launches Scholarship programme, calls for donations

Youth of the European People's Party

The Youth of the European People’s Party (YEPP) is launching today the fundraising campaign for its scholarship programme. An initiative coming from YEPP’s own members, the scholarship was born from the need to give something back to those less fortunate in Europe.
We believe that everyone with an academic potential deserves an education, regardless of whether they can afford it or not. We want to help students achieve their goal and we do not want the cost of attending university to be a barrier to the pursuit of a world-class education. That is why we are launching this fundraising effort and call on your support to turn the dream of a student into a reality.
Mainly using our extensive network of young members who work in the European Institutions, as well as other individuals who wish to contribute in any way they can, we aim to give a 20,000€ scholarship for a European graduate student wishing to continue his education in a European university. All funds will strictly come from private donations and the programme will be fully and directly administered by YEPP.
As university and living costs rise, the scholarship will be provided on a need basis and to applicants who uphold YEPP’s values of democracy, freedom and belief in the European project. Open to Master’s students, the course they choose to attend has to be linked to European affairs, and could be from politics, to European studies, International Relations, Economics, etc. Candidates will be asked to provide their academic credentials, a letter of motivation explaining how their study is linked to European ideals, two letters of reference and their CV. All applicants should have completed their Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2:1 (or equivalent) and have already accepted/given an offer of admission to a Master’s or PhD programme. Finally, they need to be able to demonstrate their proficiency in the English language. Upon accepted, the beneficiary will be required to attend YEPP Alumni network events and write two pieces of research in English, one in each academic term, on a topic that will be assigned to him/her.
We call on you to join us and help a student in need realise the academic experience they have worked hard to prepare for. Together, we can give something back to the leaders of tomorrow.
