YEPP gathers in Cascais to discuss the Future of Economy

Youth of the European People's Party

Cascais, Portugal – Over 80 young delegates will gather in Cascais this weekend to discuss some of the most topical issues, including the future of the economy and the upcoming 2019 European Parliamentary Elections. The Conference on the Future of Economy: Technology and Society will be organised by the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies and the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung.

It gives us a great pleasure to announce that Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the President of the Republic of Portugal, will be our keynote speaker this weekend. Prof. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa has a long-lasting political career. He was one of the founders of the centre-right Social Democratic Party (PSD), and also served as the Vice-President of the European People’s Party (EPP). His presence in the event represents a great opportunity for young Europeans to learn from the past and project the future.

Other high-profile speakers, including representatives from both politics and experts on the economy, will ensure that we are equipped with the latest communication tools and hottest topics on the European and national level. But don’t worry. We also got something to say about what this election should be about. That is why we will not only voice our brand-new agenda on “The Future of Europe”, but there is also more to come on the “Future of Economy”.

Crucial questions arising from that topic will be discussed in various panels and workshops among our delegates and guests. The conclusion of the event will be implemented in our next white papers and later in the year.

Make sure you follow us on Facebook and Twitter, so you do not miss the chance to participate and stay tuned.

Credits and special thanks to our member organizations JSD and JP that will be hosting us this weekend and that prepared to facilitate the Summer School.
