PRESS RELEASE: Three centre-right youth organizations (YEPP, DEMYC, EDS) joined another 200 youth delegates to attend the Council of Members (COMEM) of the European Youth Forum, in Braga, Portugal, on November 18, 2011.
At the elections for the new Advisory Council on Youth Issues of the Council of Europe, Mia Magazin, DEMYC candidate also nominated by YEPP and EDS, got most votes among the 20 new members of the body. This is the first time in the history of the European Youth Forum that a candidate from the centre-right gets the most votes in such elections.
Mia Magazin is one of the most experienced delegates within the European Youth Forum framework, and has enjoyed the Council leadership’s trust, welcoming her proposals and the agenda of the three organizations she has represented.
The general attendance of the centre-right youth delegates at the meeting was very successful, given the fact that most of their proposals and amendments were adopted by the Policy Commissions and the Council. The contribution and cooperation of the three organizations was greatly appreciated, setting higher expectations for the next Council of Members scheduled for the spring of 2012.
