Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Boris Nemtsov, leading Russian opposition politician, who was shot dead in Moscow.
We pay our respect today to Nemtsov’s legacy, a vision of a more democratic and open Russia, at peace with itself and the outside world. A vision we have endorsed, when protesting in support of Boris Nemtsov in Talinn, Estonia, in the summer of 2013.
We strongly urge the national authorities to act swiftly and effectively in the investigations surrounding the murder and bring those accountable to justice.
