Looking for work experience in the capital of Europe? Interested in learning up-close about European politics as part of the team of Europe’s largest political youth organisation? Looking for a challenge? Then we are looking for you!
EVS, or European Voluntary Service, was put in place by the European Commission to help young people travel abroad to participate in volunteering projects, as part of Erasmus+. The participation in the project offers the volunteer a great chance for personal and professional development, and the unique opportunity to learn first-hand about how the European Union works. Additionally, the project allows the participant to contribute to furthering youth participation in political life at the national and European level. Volunteers participate in EVS through a Sending Organisation in the country where they live and a Receiving Organisation that receives and hosts them during their period of service (YEPP is the latter).
For more information on the project, please visit: European Voluntary Service and European Youth Portal.

As an EVS volunteer, you will assist in the following main areas:
• helping with organising YEPP conferences around Europe
• enhancing communication between YEPP and its 60 Member Organisations
• assisting with the running of the organisation, with an eye on project financing and fundraising
• supporting the YEPP office in its daily tasks
Please see the detailed call and more information on the programme in this document.

Much of the work will be carried out in the office but some activities will also take place in the European Parliament, the European Commission or on location in another EU country. You will not be solely responsible for any of these tasks.
Our successful EVS volunteer will join us for 11 months, starting with the 4th of September 2017. The programme will end on the 3th of August 2018. The European Commission will provide a budget for a return flight, shared accommodation, food, local public transport as well as pocket money. This should cover the basic needs. Depending on your lifestyle, it is likely that you will still need to use some of your own funds.

What does it take?
Only volunteers aged 17-30, with minimum of C1 English level (CEF or CEFR), are eligible to apply under the EVS programme. If you wish to apply for volunteering with YEPP, please fill out the application form (link to form), along with your CV and sample of your written work (could be an essay, an article or a blog post) to yepp@epp.eu. The deadline for submissions is on the 14th of July 2017. We will only accept applicants that adhere to the values of YEPP (see here), have submitted a complete application and have registered with an accredited sending organisation, per EVS rules (to start, here’s a link to the national youth agencies that will help you identify a sending organisation in your country).
A shortlist of 3 candidates will be drawn up. All three will be contacted by phone or Skype before a final decision will be made.
For any further questions, you can contact YEPP Executive Officer, Monika Kalkusova, at yepp@epp.eu.
